This is from “His Gift” in Land and Sea Tales for Scouts and Guides. A friendly local shopkeeper, who happens to be an experiemced chef, is visiting a scout camp tp see what they are cooking. He is not impressed, but he later finds a scout, the least regarded of the troop, who proves to to have a real gift for cooking. |
